Community Events/Education
House Calls - Radio Show
Hosted by Kerry Faunce, Morehead Hospital marketing director, and Torrey Goard, community health educator. Listen in as the hosts are joined by a physician, health care provider or a special guest from the area to discuss the medical topic of the day. Broadcasts are also available anytime on our website: www.morehead.org.

Chronic Disease Management Programs
Cardiac Rehabilitation & Maintenance Program
Please call 336-627-0409, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., to register for the following program.

A comprehensive program is available to individuals who have had a heart attack, open heart surgery, valve replacement, angina and/or other cardiac procedures. The program consists of a prescribed regimen of physical exercise to improve functional work capacity, psychological, nutritional, and vocational education. This program requires a physician’s referral. A maintenance program is available for those who have completed the Cardiac Rehabilitation program.

Diabetes Management Program
Please call 336-627-0409, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., to register for the following program.

A series of three group educational classes designed to teach individuals how to lead a healthy and independent lifestyle while living with diabetes. Our program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and includes education and personalized nutrition counseling. A physician referral is required.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program
Please call 336-627-0409, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., to register for the following program.

Pulmonary Rehab is an ongoing program for people who have a chronic lung disease such as asthma or COPD. The program includes an individualized exercise program to improve your endurance and functional ability. The program includes education and training to provide you techniques to help you breathe better. A physician referral is required.

Parent/Child Education
Brother/Sister Preparation Class
Please call 336-623-9711 ext 2860 to register. A fun one-day course to prepare older children for the arrival of a new baby brother or sister. Includes basic information about babies, safe play and a tour of the Birthing Center.

Monthly Groups
Alcoholics Anonymous
Open meeting - for those interested in recovery from alcoholism. For more information, please call 336-623-2382 or 336-939-3230.
